Tip No. 5 Catching food

It's the simple things in life that can really make a difference. In survival this is equally a valid point. The classic rabbit trap of a box and stick may look comical but is highly effective for catching small mammals such as rabbits. Just because Willie Coyote failed doesn't mean it won't work for you.

Another technique which is less known is used for catching birds such as pheasants. To do this you require raisins and hair. Simply thread the hair through the raisin and leave in an area you have sighted to contain pheasants. On eating the raisins the hair will catch in their throat causing a gagging effect which will render the pheasant paralyzed.
